In many states, employers are required (and in the states where the requirement doesn’t exist, it is highly encouraged) to place sexual harassment prevention posters around the workplace to make employees aware of existing sexual harassment policies. To defend themselves against sexual harassment allegations, employers must show they exercised “reasonable care” to prevent or correct the harassment; displaying sexual harassment posters could be a factor in showing “reasonable care” to prevent harassment.
